Palm Springs...(Really?)

So, a few days ago I decided to travel to "Palm Springs."  And, since I was going to "Palm Springs," of course I took my camera.

Hmmh.  Yakima, the Palm Springs of Washington.  Really?  Does this mean I can cross Palm Springs off of my bucket list now?  (Not that I have a bucket list.  I should.  I've tried.  I don't).

I have been to Palm Springs, and I have been to Yakima.  I prefer Yakima.  The real Yakima--not "the Palm Springs of Washington."  Which is interesting.  Why is it that "Yakima" thinks that it needs to be "Palm Springs"?  Why can't Yakima just be Yakima, and celebrate it?  (Note to self, lesson to be learned from this).

I like Yakima.  And, I was glad I had my camera with me because every time I go to Yakima--YAKIMA--I see these stacks of fruit crates, with the sun hitting against them, and I swear I think to myself, "when I build a house, I will build the exterior of fruit crates," something like this:

Yes, dear Yakima, I like you just the way you are, as Yakima.  But what I like even better is the return trip home from Yakima:
Happy Friday.  Time to go celebrate being Yakima.
